>> Hi. My name is Pete Bradshaw, and I'm a
software engineer here at YouTube.
00:00:05
At YouTube, we're constantly inspired by the
amazing things our users do on the site.
00:00:10
One thing we noticed recently is that many
users up load 3-D videos. These videos consist
00:00:15
of a pair of images combined in one of a number
of ways.
00:00:19
This means that if you want to experience
the 3-D, you sometimes have to cross your
00:00:22
eyes, you sometimes have to look through,
and sometimes you have to wear colored glasses
00:00:26
of a particular type.
This is all really cool, but it has an unfortunate
00:00:30
side effect.
When you come to the site, if you don't have
00:00:33
the right-colored glasses, you can't watch
a particular video.
00:00:36
We decided to fix this.
We added this tag.
00:00:40
If you add this tag to your video's tags,
then you will notice there's a new drop down
00:00:44
underneath the video.
This lets the user select how they want to
00:00:48
watch your 3-D content, expanding your audience.
The community response to this so far has
00:00:54
been amazing.
We have been blown away.
00:00:55
And we're really excited to see what you guys
make with it.
00:00:59
So get out there and make some 3-D.
